Federico Archuleta completes new mural for Jarritos in El Paso.

Well-know Austin muralist, Federico Archuleta, famous for his iconic images around Texas, completes new project for Jarritos in El Paso.

Elisabet Ney Museum, Austin, Texas Hosts Soloist Musical Performances

During July & August 2012 the Elisabet Ney Museum in Austin Texas hosted soloist musical performances to enhance our Sunday's visitors experience.

Ney's studio with the plaster masters of Stephen Austin and Sam Houston. The final marble sculptures are in the rotunda at the State of Texas Capitol.

Before fleeing for Texas, Ney sculptured many of Europe's greatest leaders. Shown above are Garibaldi the unifier of modern Italy and Bismarck who did the same for Germany.

Ney's sculpture of Christ has a distinctive Germanic appearance.

DAC Hosts "ART GAMES" and mounts Art Exhibit

 "Dougherty Art Games" 


July 17, 2012, With the an Olympic Games theme and downtown Austin skyline in the background, students from the "The Dougherty art-letes" from the Dougherty Arts Center Summer Camp program enjoyed a cool overcast day outdoors on.

Art Building – "The Dougherty art-letes" Dougherty Arts School students work as a team to build up their paper dowels into fantastic art sculptures with downtown Austin skyline in the background to inspire them.

Dougherty Art Games – You can see the Dougherty Arts Center in the background as Dougherty summer camp students parade to the top of Butler Park hill in celebration of the summer art games.

Later, The Dougherty Art Center presented a professionally display art exhibit at THe Julia C. Butridge Gallery.
