Actual Video Journey to the Center of our Galaxy

This video shows an actual infrared video journey to Sagittarius, the center of our galaxy "the Milky Way" (Via Lactica, latin.) 

Filmed using an old Sony digital video camera with "super night shot" mode, that uses available infrared waves. I focused on Sagittarius which according to the webster dictionary points the way to the center of our galaxy. The hub of the spiral, I used the zoom function to travel thousands of light years into the very heart of the constellation.

Interactive 3D Light Sculpture enjoyed by thousands

Over 25,000 viewers enjoyed Stephen Bornstein's latest installation during Austin's official New Year's Eve Celebrations at Auditorium Shores. It went up in one day and came down without leaving a trace or impacting the sensitive grove of trees and their root system. Photo above shows the artist and friend, Howard Stevens controlling the level of interactivity of the display.

Here is short time lapse video of the construction and presentation of our 3D Interactive Light Sculpture featured at this New Year's Eve Celebrations in Downtown Austin. 25,000 visitors attended the event on December 31st, 2011. This video will also be screened during this Year's "Austin Film Festival" at City Hall during SXSW 2012.

3D light Sculpture featured at Austin New Year's Eve Celebration 2012

A 20 ft 3d Light Sculpture was one of several featured attractions at the 2012 New Year's Eve Celebrations in Downtown Austin. Attended by over 25,000 visitors, the light sculpture was a favorite with anyone with a smart phone. Every one enjoyed shooting video of the fast moving interactive display. The display responded to the music of the bands appearing on the near by stage  from provided by The Austin Parks & Recreation Department and their History, Art & Nature Division. The family-friendly, alcohol-free event was a perfect venue for this type of installation. Young children especially liked the kinetic, rhythmic, ever changing colorful light display.
The artist will screen a short film (see other post) of it's construction and the display during the event at the upcoming "Austin Film Festival" during SXSW 2012.
