New FM 1626 Bear Creek Creek Bridge Poured.

The new Bear Creek Bridge will allow unimpeded access for Hays County residents to Travis County and Austin in the event of flash flooding. Halloween Storm of 2013 isolated Hays from Travis for more than a day.
Improved and safer commutes.
Improvements on FM 1626 will greatly increase safety and access along the heavily used road. Big rigs now compete with passenger cars and school buses. Additionally, the anticipated approval of Texas State Highway SW 45's construction will complete the new way to travel to Austin. Buda and Kyle already bedroom communities to Travis County, will greatly benefit from this new infrastructure.

Austin Community College (ACC) Hays Campus Opens.

On January 16th 2014, Austin Community College's Hays Campus opened and will change the nature of Northern Hays County for ever. As the County changes from rural to urban, residents will now be able to gain real life skills and if they want have a seamlessly transfer to Texas State University in San Marcos.
